Ground Rent Portfolio – A collection of freehold ground rents which a person or company owns.

Head Lease – A head lease is a lease between a tenant and a landlord in which overall contractual responsibility is given to one identifiable tenant called the head lessee. This form of lease normally relates to an entire building where the individual units are sold off on long leases known as under leases.

Freehold of a Property – The ground on which the property stands on, as well as the outer shell of the building which contains it.

Leasehold of a Property – The legal right to use or hold a property for a fixed amount of time for a set fee.

Section 5 (V) Notice – This notice must be served on a leaseholder where there are more than 2 units in the block to give them first refusal of the Freehold should the current Freeholder wish to sell their interest to a third party.

The Title of a Property – The number assigned to the freehold by the crown.
